Should Bloggers Make Money?
How to make money online is definitely an interesting topic to discuss, it is probably one the most searches topic on search engines. Of course, autographs for sale is not a good business model to start with.
I believe most of you guys have read about the “how” many times through various blogs. But be careful, those “whole heartedly” explanations might lead you to a sublime sale page.
Targeting to position my post on certain keywords and to help explain money online, I ranted about the “how” on this blog which include some fundamentals of making money online on so you want to make money online huh? – this is the first part of the series.
Apart from selling Charles Schulz art 
, blogging is one of many possible ways to make money online. As you might notice, a lot of bloggers have been able to make a descent amount of money doing what they first called, “a hobby”. Here’s to list a few:
- Michael Arrington
- John Chow
- Darren Rowse
- Carl Ocab
- And many more..
Obviously, they enjoy what they did, but question like: should they make money from blogging? is often audible.
If you ask me that question, my answer is an absolute yes. People might have some arguments about the growth of “fully-fill-ads” blogs which lead to less information/entertainment and more useless blogs. But if the readers enjoyment is preserved, like most of professional bloggers did, I do not see any false step in making money through blogging. In fact, blogging is one of business models that can generate substantial revenues.
Earning money from blog is not an easy job. It will not happen overnight. People who tell you contrariwise is very likely to make fortune from scummy movie memorabilia. Professional bloggers are making four-to-five figure income per month and that fact reinforce my answer to a definite yes.

Yes, we should make money blogging. It depends on someone’s needs anyway. What I don’t like are those bloggers who forgot to bring out quality posts because they care more on doing paid posts, or posts that I cannot appreciate because their ads are bigger than the text…those little things I observe every now and then…
There is no reason to not make money. Those who only focus on that will not stay around long.
Making money the A-list way is very very difficult. It needs a lot of persistence, ingenuity and commitment. It can be done, but one must know that the first money made in that way are in no way in a near future. If you have time and the money to support you while you build your audience, you can try to become the next John Chow, but how much time can you wait before you see the results of your hard work?

You don’t really have to do fully-fill-ad your blog. You just need some good optimization techniques. Traffic is the key to earn money through blogging.
I think they definitely. Although blogs could have a lot of ads but money will give them an opportunity to spent more time writing posts and gather materials.

Why not? if they could make more than their day job, dont you think it’s worth it.
Anyone that put a lot of time and efforts doing something that is appreciated by others should make money doing it. It is a reward that encourages one to keep doing good work.

How to make money on the Internet is indeed one the most searched topics. As I see it, earning money from blogging is not easy at all, so I don’t see any reason why Bloggers would not enjoy thier effort.

Every blogger deserves money. We don’t charge people to visit the blogs, so the least we can do is get money through advertisement. Nobody would read your blog if they were charged money to visit your site. The amount of money the blogger wants to earn is ultimately decided by that person.

Each of those bloggers you listed are the exception, rather than the rule.
Making money blogging about making money blogging is next to impossible.
The key is finding a niche which is profitable and not saturated.
As to your question of whether bloggers should make money – absolutely.
We don’t expect our newspapers to be delivered for free, why should we expect bloggers to make their content available to us, while not benefiting from it?

Let them make their money. Why not? Isn’t that what we dream about – having a hobby that pays? People and advertisers are willing to pay and it’s not like people are twisting their arms. If they feel that they aren’t getting their money’s worth than don’t buy from them anymore.

Tracy is right, there’s plenty of rubbish blogs out there with the sole intent to make money, but they’re pretty quickly found out, and don’t tend to last long.

I think bloggers should make tons of money on blogging because this is still a big business online just like offline businesses.
I belive bloggers should make money, aslong as they put the work in and have a well presentated blog with high traffic. If they have all this then why not!

I think that making money in any legal way is good. Earning money by blogging is also not easy and cheap way to get along but hard work to make blog visible and traffic paying off. It is not easy to create your little web empire and make it worthy anything. The blogging itself should not be restricted in any way. A very similar ‘commission’ based way to make money is to sell products via the blog using someone else’s infrastructure. Amazon lets you do this for example.
