I Got 1538 + 265 In Just 3 Weeks
If you follow me on twitter, you might notice that I shouted something about connection problem this past 3 weeks. I cannot connect to the Internet because of some technical problem, it took 3 weeks for my ISP to clinch it down.
So many things happened during this ‘short excruciate period’, and one of them is those figures on the title. No, my friend, that figures is not money
I am very excited at first to read all those mails, but disappointed at the end because all of them were just spams. I don’t know how these spammers got my email, they seems to have a good technology on getting emails these days.
I also saw the deflation of my daily UV because of my absence in the past 3 weeks. My SERP in Google also get affected, I am now way behind my competitors due to lack of SE optimization.
I also get affected financially, 3 ‘assignments’ (worth $30 each of them) on Sponsoredreviews.com has been canceled due to deadline. 1 order from direct advertisers also been canceled due to late response.
I will continue to post regularly after this and hopefully nothing bad happen to my ISP in the near future. Have you ever experienced any problem with your ISP?

I’ve never had ISP problems like that, but this is what I imagine my worst nightmare being, when everything just comes apart and I’m not technie enough to deal with it until the damage is done. Hope everything works out well – sorry to hear you went through this.
Bro,
Sometimes nightmare like this happen but I could not stand 1 day without internet, not to mention 3 long weeks. I’ll seek for alternative if i can’t surf at my usual place.
@Drifting Writer: Glad to hear that pal. It is the worst time in my online journey.
@Cyza: That’s what I did, but to write a complete post, I sometimes need more than hours to get it finish. So, it’s still hard for me to maintain everything.
Lol? 1538 mails! That could have keep you awake the whole night huh..

3 Weeks !!!, I would have been down at the ISP office screaming at them. I am a big believer in squeaky wheels. I once managed to get Dell to do something they said they would not do, so hope people.

There are lots of ways they can get your email. Many scrape sites for anything with the @ sign while others just buy lists from places you have innocently gave it to. I have several email accounts that I revolve around and they continually fill up with junk.

I went without internet for nearly 2 months due to a hospital/physical rehab stay.
I had to chuckle at 1538 though. My email stopped receiving after only FIVE DAYS due to almost 2200 emails.

Man, spam is a very bad think…
I am still trying to figure out how to utilize Twitter and I am young! I guess I like to try what everyone else is not doing, but Twitter can bring you in some huge traffic. That is for sure.
I think, i got so may mail than u.. Hehehe
A very nice blog. Thanks for sharing the information with us.so keep sharing!!!
There are so many spammers out there that I cannot believe there are some legitimate companies that still practice sending out emails to potential clients. What was once an effective marketing tool has been abused to the point it is useless.

So far my ISP’s ok. Wow what a number of mails.
Sorry to hear about your problems.
This used to happen to me all the time, so I know how it feels. I ended up changing service providers, that seems to have done the trick.
Is this an option for you?
Maybe you need an backup ISP, in my country we have few ISP we can choose from.. so when one down we can chnage to the other ISP =)
@karmin – Not useless but you definitely have to be a bit more creative to get yours opened.

Oh my good, for 3 weeks?
I couldn’t stand for 1 day not to mention 3 weeks..
How is that you didn’t go to a friend to check mail, blog, etc.?
@Ben Pei: I certainly do if all of them were not spam.
@Webkinz: Believe me, 3 weeks time made me half loony
@GregR: That’s what my friend and I did, but they kept promising things will be OK in couple of days.
@tracy: Yea, buying lists is pretty common these days.
@Dennis Edell: They really stop receiving? awesome!
@Safuan: You must be a good emails reader!
@karmin: Some people might see it useless, but I believe it still has stranglehold if done creatively.
@Catzer: Agreed, they made a lot of promises. Let’s wait and see what will happen this time.
@Cesar: Glad to hear that pal, yea – a lot of spammy mails. Fortunately, google have “Select All” feature
@Core Drill: No, it is not, the plan that I’m using now is the most stable one compared to the other in terms of price and swift. I hope options will be broad here soon.
@wii gamerz: Yea we do have options here, but with high price and slower connection than my current ISP, I just think it is not worth it. Btw, where are you from pal?
@Azwan: Life’s definitely easier with many options
@Underarm Sweating: Yea, it was excruciate to wait for that long. I did went to my friends’ house but to write a post on this blog, I need all the ‘space’
Stop receiving as in my inbox filled in just 5 days….not awesome.

I absolutely love what I do as an Internet Marketer/SEO provider. What I don’t enjoy is the technical hassles along the way. This year both of our office computer picked a nasty Trojan that required wiping the hard drives. The lost productivity and frustration added insult to the injury and cash outlays involved to solve the problem.
Then we had to have a site taken down that had scrapped three of our pages and put it on their site. So I can very much relate to where you are coming from. I have a Sprint Air Card as back-up if our ISP goes down, which it has. It costs 60.00 a month but it keeps us connected in emergencies.

@ Norhafidz.. You must have entered your email id on a site which must be offering some exiting offers. I have been fooled too many times by such tricks by spammers.
That is why I hate spamming!
omg. really big number. I cant leave a day without checking my email. you got that really big. you may now need another week to check them out all.

I’m having problems with my ISP right now.
It’s incredibly frustrating, especially when you’re trying to make a living online…
so far i don’t any problem with my streamyx…only at certain time which i think during peak time the internet connection quite slow.i think the connection problem depend on the location.
I’ve been fortunate to avoid all of these types of problems, but I’m just getting away from the free blogs and towards the paid hosting for URLs, so I’m a little bit nervous since I’m relatively new to this side of things. Glad it worked out at least, and hopefully it’s the last time you have any issues.

It just shows what trouble ISPs can cause without knowing.
I’m quite surprised you got so many e-mails in 3 weeks, quite amazing really.
Spammers becomes harder and harder to be blocked by the email service providers. New softwares always come with something new, and that’s why the spammers are hard to catch. For now, I receive 150 emails in my inbox and around 1200 in spam folder. This is outrageous!
Sorry to hear of your problems. I know such things can be painful- I had a hard drive crash that stopped things cold for me a few months ago. Now I back up everything.
You might want to consider getting some kind of mobile internet access if it is available in your area. An iPhone or one of the newer smartphones, will at least help you keep up with your emails and business contacts. If you want to run a internet business, 100% uptime is a must.

this is a common problem everybody is facing. they can get your id quite easily from unprotected websites and database that have details of us. one should never open any anonymous mail or any mail from unknown sources.
I hate the spam!
OH my God!! how did you managed it?
Wow, that is not very cool. I would have been on those guys like a dog on a steak bone! What was their response to the serious lack of professional consideration?
so boring after all of these mail i think how you will have shout out you important mail from so many mail.

1538 mails , it is really very big problem how you can handle it .
I felt so bad to hear that. It happened with me twice after that I change my service provider. I had not face that problem after that. Now I am using Gmail it is better than all other.
We should maintain our blogs or websites regularly even every day. I still learn about SEO but I would like to continue doing the steps. Besides, I have to analyze frequently based on the results of what I did before.
That is a lot of spam on your email account. I must say that I’m impressed. More than 1500 spam emails in 3 weeks? I’m pretty sure that you helped them to find you. I mean: log here, log there, create account here etc. These numbers are enormous for me and I think that you could drag spammers behind you like a shadow. Some of them found you on their own, but I could not believe that all of them are so fit and handy at finding potential victims by themselves.
It is not a network connection problem. You picked a bad time to download YM. Yahoo is doing a major update to the site. Many long-time users can not get into YM at all. Others can get in but are having all sorts of troubles. It is not your computer or browser.
