PageRank Updated

This post is not associated with Busby SEO Challenge, just a rambling about the next update of PageRank from Google. Today i notice something changing in my blog. I am not expecting to be this early, but Google is certainly in process of updating their PageRank. According Matt Cutts, they’ll also expiring some penalties on some websites.

Of course this blog is not affected by this update because it was extremely new. But my other blogs recieved some huge reward from Google. One increased from 0 to PR3 and another one from 0 to PR2. I am quite happy with this time update, compared to the previous where I lost a lot of PR.

Back to busby seo challenge, things are getting harder for me now, I’m stucked in the region of 30 - 40th position. I’m quite busy to update the blog and to acquiring lot of quality backlinks. My new class schedule is ramshackle, I cannot do anything about it now. That’s why I think for this type of competition, forming a group is a great idea. Just like the sphere does, they formed a team and divide the tasks. I might replicate their strategy in the next competition :)

Busby SEO Challenge on Influential Links

I notice some interesting phenomena on my journey to top of google ranking for the key phrase busby seo challenge. I know this theory since the first day I learn the science of search engine. The theory I’m trying to prove is the link back from ‘influential links’.

Influential links is my own term to describe the link. It is so influential that Google obeyed to them in their ranking position. Those influential inbound link is the link from *.edu and *.gov sites. There is a website that compete for busby seo challenge, but through my analysis, it have less backlink than mine. But, it stayed on the first page of google ranking.

Though it had less links that mine, the website have a couple of links pointing at it from *.edu sites. So the theory of influential links is extremely true. Google take this TLDs as the trustable sites and they have so much power that can incantation google.

Article Submission, a Nifty SEO Technique?

I’ve been experimenting quite a few methods to lift my position on Google ranking for the key phrase Busby SEO Challenge for quite almost a month now. So far so good, I’ve got my 40th position yesterday on Google in just a couple of weeks (nearly a month, I started the first post in the early month of July). Well, that shows how efficient and precise these few methods were. One of these methods I’ve been testing for a nearly a month is Article submission.

I don’t know how precise it works in determining your SERP, because I did a lot of other optimization strategies. But based on clicks stats, those articles did not succeed in attracting visitors to come in to this blog. The average clicks were just 2 to 4 since I uploaded them.

Most experts said, the SERP in Google is related to the quality of inbound link, the PR. The higher the PR of your inbound links, the higher you rank on SERP. To me, the article directories’ PR doesn’t relate to this situation, because when you submit your articles to these directories, they will assign one unique URL for your article. Certainly, it will not have the same PR with the main page of that directory. So, in terms of PR quality, it doesn’t help.

But, I did submit articles and point some anchor text in them to a post in this official Busby SEO Challenge blog. Interestingly, that post showed up in 7th page on Google. I did mention that on the post here: For Busby SEO Challenge, Google Loves Me!

But that post gone 2 days later, hmm, that’s an interesting situation to study. I’ll study more on that later on. I’ll try to list all the article directories that I used to submit my articles, perhaps in the next posts.

Page 3 On Yahoo!

Though the competition is calculated on Google, I just wondering what other search engines think about Busby SEO Challenge keyphrase, particularly Yahoo! search engine. Does Yahoo! have the same method used by Google to rank websites? If they do, the rank should look similar in Yahoo! search engine. But the result is 100% different. Though some websites does appear both in Yahoo’s and Google’s front page. Surprisingly, my official busby seo challenge blog is on the third page of Yahoo! SERP. My methods work well in Yahoo! Busby SEO Challenge

During this period of busby seo challenge, I did come up with new idea in SEO. Though I have no objection on the ‘power’ of web directories that can produce one-way link, there is some other way to get it quick, without acquiring huge effort at all.

I like capturing ranking on Google because I want to keep this experience :) Enjoy the images!
